Get into the Christmas swing at Wexham Green!
The lights are up, shops are full of festive cheer and it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Yes, it’s that time of year again! If you’re ready to embrace the Christmas spirit, there are plenty of activities close to Wexham Green for all the family to enjoy. Here we pick a few of our favourites.
Festive fun weekend in Slough
Make tracks to the Town Square in Slough on 15th/16th December for some festive family fun. There’s a land train, Santa’s animals, stalls, face painting and plenty more, including the not-to-be-missed tap dancing turkeys! It wouldn’t be Christmas without a tree and Slough doesn’t disappoint with a 40ft Norwegian spruce to admire.
Get your skates on in Windsor
You don’t have to be Torvill or Dean to enjoy skating at Windsor On Ice at Alexandra Gardens, in the shadow of Windsor Castle, just five miles away. If you don’t fancy skating, watch from the warm viewing area or chill in the Ice bar and enjoy festive food. The ice rink is open until Sunday 6th January, 10am to 9pm daily (except Christmas Day), so it’s perfect for a spot of post-Christmas exercise too.
For ice skating all year round, visit Slough’s award-winning Ice Arena, which has just had a multi-million pound rebuild, just 2.4 miles from Wexham Green.
Mother Christmas Trail at Cliveden
The National Trust’s glorious gardens and woodlands at Cliveden are just seven miles from Wexham Green. What better way to tire out the little ones as Christmas approaches than with a festive trail helping Mother Christmas make the preparations to get Father Christmas off to deliver presents on time? The trail runs every weekend up to Sunday 23rd December from 10.30am to 2.30pm. You can even pick up a Christmas tree or last-minute present in the gift shop.
