We’ve picked our favourite places for autumnal walks near Wexham Green in Berkshire, perfect for kicking up the leaves and enjoying nature’s stunning bronzed scenery this time of year.
1. Upton Court Park
Slough’s largest park at 180 acres, just 2.3 miles from Wexham Green, has a natural rural charm with many natural areas and woodlands to discover. There are plenty of play areas to keep young visitors entertained and lots of of seating for the adults, so it’s no wonder this is such a popular park for families to visit all year round.
2. Black Park Country Park
Black Park Country Park is just two miles from Wexham Green. This country park has around 535 acres of woodlands, 10 miles of cycling and walking tracks and a beautiful lake. Little ones can explore the woodland adventure play area, while the older children can enjoy hanging out at Go Ape – a treetop adventure course – getting an even better view of the changing season. For kids (and adults) of all ages, we recommend ending your trip at the café, warming up with a hot chocolate.
3. Burnham Beeches
A Special Area of Conservation and a National Nature Reserve, Burnham Beeches is just under four miles from Wexham Green and is the perfect place to see centuries-old trees and their changing leaves as well as a host of wonderful wildlife. With 925 acres to explore, we recommend planning your walking route in advance, using the official guide map, or joining one of the many mid-week and weekend guided walks held throughout the year.
